Gongjindan in Korea: Ingredients, Price and English Consultation

You may have seen Gongjindan in a gift box or heard a colleague mention it during a demanding period. But if tiredness has already changed your weekends or left little energy after work, the question is more personal: what am I taking, and does it make sense for the life I want to get back to? Understanding the formula, evidence and cost gives you a better starting point than choosing by packaging alone.

What is in Gongjindan?

The traditional core ingredients are deer antler, Korean angelica root, cornus fruit and musk. Preparations vary: some contain additional herbs such as ginseng or prepared rehmannia, and products using different aromatic ingredients are also marketed under related names. The exact preparation matters when comparing prices or interpreting research.

At this clinic, the confirmed published specification is 100 mg of musk, called sahyang in Korean, per pill. That is the amount in one pill, not in the whole box. Ask to review the actual ingredient information when discussing a prescription, particularly if you have allergies, take other medicines or need to avoid animal-derived ingredients.

Clinic and retail preparations can both have fixed compositions. The useful distinction is the exact product and the clinical assessment supporting its use—not an assumption that every clinic pill is individually reformulated or that every shop product is the same.

What does research say about fatigue?

In a four-week randomized trial involving 90 adults with fatigue lasting at least six months, participants received one of two herbal medicines or placebo. The Gongjin-Dan group showed improvement in a secondary measure of social functioning. The main fatigue-severity measure did not show a statistically clear difference from placebo. The 2025 correction retained that Gongjin-Dan finding while correcting the interpretation of some results for the other medicine.

This is a reason to discuss possible benefit with realistic goals. The study tested a specific preparation containing 74 mg of musk per pill, which differs from our published 100 mg specification. Neither the study nor a higher ingredient amount predicts your individual response. A useful follow-up asks about fatigue, sleep, digestion and whether activities you had reduced have become easier to continue.

When might a consultation be useful?

Consider a visit when fatigue keeps interfering with ordinary life and you want a treatment plan rather than another product to try without guidance. For example, if you have stopped weekend walks because you feel depleted, that activity can help describe your goal. It is an illustration of a treatment goal, not a promise of a particular result.

We review when the tiredness began, how rest changes it, sleep and meals, digestion, existing conditions and current medication. These details help decide whether Gongjindan, another herbal prescription or further assessment is appropriate. Persistent fatigue can have several causes, so existing test results are useful if you have them.

Tell us about pregnancy or breastfeeding, liver or kidney conditions, allergies, and all prescription medicines and supplements. Children need their own assessment. Do not stop regular medication to start Gongjindan. If a new rash or digestive upset appears while taking it, stop further doses and contact the clinic for advice.
